Drew's deep dug-out ditch

yes, I know, fantastically interesting shots of some pipework - stunning artistic piece that it is, at least it's some form of progress. Drew dug this all out in preparation for the plumber... the plumber who didn't turn up. For two weeks. And many promises. So we sacked him. And now he wants to give us an invoice for doing f$%^$ nothing?? Yes, Drew had a few choice words for him. *sigh*

cornice is in

We both liked the three-step cornice detail - quite contemporary but still with a hint of history to it, but not trying to pretend the house is a classic Queenslander or worker's cottage. Cannot WAIT for the sanding to be done and the painting to begin!!

not quite Narnia...

but at least we have wardrobes... well, at least the wardrobe shells!

acne cream and wrinkle filler for walls

Tony and Myles do the plaster setting of the sheets – three layers. Next Myles will sand and then up goes the cornice. Great job guys!

floor before

just so there's some good 'before' shots of the floor before polishing (still some time away)

not a man-hole, it's an "access panel"

before and after for the access panel... in the interests of neatness we went for the slimline look - nice job James!

what now? ceilings!!

Yes, Myles showed us how quickly things can happen when areas are straight and you're drilling into metal channels. Now only two more ceilings to go up tonight and then the setter comes in tomorrow. Exciting!

We decided, what the hell, let's insulate the ceiling space now, before the ceiling sheets go in - quicker and easier and making the most of the opportunity.
